Triflex make multi-million pound investment in Comexi electron beam CI offset printing press

This began with leading the development of UV based flexo printing and quickly evolved into being the first in the UK to truly bring offset printing to the flexible packaging market.

The next step in that evolution is electron beam CI based offset.

It offers the unparalleled print quality that offset printing already brings to the table but with the added benefit of the CI architecture and electron beam inks, this process truly surpasses every other print process in the market.

Including environmental credentials leaps and bounds above traditional print solutions.

Wanting to bring true innovative solutions to an ever-evolving marketplace, we made the decision early in 2023 to make a significant multi-million pound investment in the latest electron beam based CI offset printing press partnering with Comexi.

The electron beam CI offset printing process is the natural printing partner for these cutting-edge recyclable materials.

The print quality achievable with offset, both on film and paper, is unsurpassed. Particularly visible when it comes to paper, it’s incredibly difficult to achieve true high-quality graphics with traditional print solutions such as flexo. With offset, our customers do not have to compromise quality when it comes to paper solutions.

When it comes to sustainability, EB inks and coatings are the ideal solution to surpass solvent based inks, they reduce emissions and consumes less ink and energy during the production process.

No environmentally harmful solvents are used in the printing process.

This results in a significant carbon footprint reduction in comparison to other print processes widely used in traditional flexible packaging.

EB inks can also be easily de-inked in the recycling process, both for papers and films. Ensuring that the whole closed loop recyclability of the packaging products we supply our customers is taken into account. Genuinely offering packaging designed with the circular economy in mind.

This enables us to be genuine partners with regards to our customers ESG strategies and values. No other print process offers these intrinsic environmental credentials.

In addition to the environmental credentials, the CI based offset solution enables unsurpassed job changeover speeds. Couple this with our in-house plate production with plates being output in 20 minutes, and you see why we have unrivalled flexibility and lead-times.
